The OCC Welcomes Dr. Edward Cetto

Dr. Edward Cetto

Teddy has been a church musician for a number of years and for a variety of  denominations, more recently at All Saints’ Anglican Church and Our Lady of Dolours Parish, both in Dublin, Ireland. He was the Director of Choral Activities at the Conservatory of   Music, University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA (1994-2015), and has directed and conducted numerous choral groups of all ages both in the U.S. and Ireland.

Teddy studied at the Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford (CT) for his Bachelor of Music Education, at the Boston Conservatory of Music for hisMasters of Music in Choral Directing, and at the University of Iowa for his Doctor of Musical Arts, during which time he also studied the organ for two years.

As well as a church musician, Dr. Cetto teaches Kodály Methodology (How to teach children music), musicianship of all types one-on-one at the church. He is an avid jazz pianist. His motto is Si hilaris reminici – “If it’s fun they’ll remember”; his sidgle is solfeggio. He is the father of the artist, Eliana Cetto and jazz bassist, Giulio Cetto.
