November 5th the PF ran the Children’s Fair at our Annual Church Mouse Fair.  Fun was had by all face painting, making masterpieces with Spin Art, decorating ornaments and cake pops and playing games with the younger children that attended the fair.

November 11th – 13th was the Homeless Awareness Weekend.  This was the OCC’s 3rd year sleeping out and the 5th anniversary of the event for the organizing group from Rehoboth Congregational Church.  There were 17 youth and 11 adults that participated over the weekend from the OCC.  As always our PFers were SO amazing I am beaming with pride!!  They are the most wonderful group of teenagers in the world!  Yeah, you heard me – THE WORLD!!  They gave up their sports, friends and comforts of home to sleep in boxes in the cold, beg on Wrentham common, pack 139 pb&j lunches and serve at a soup kitchen in Providence.  With no complaints all weekend – just pure compassion for the population that we were serving.  Our youth have raised over $1500 dollars and the event as a whole has raised about $8000 with a goal of $10,000.  I will have final numbers soon.  Thank you to the Parsons and Pearl Gottberg for making us a delicious breakfast on Sunday and to Jerry Long for cleaning up after us.  Thank you to Heather & Steve Langley, Amy Kopas, Christine Symmes, Bob Steinbrecher, Steve Tiller, Renee Knott, Melyssa Reed and Emily Shepard for all you help over the weekend.  Thank you to Pastor Ken for being so involved with our youth and giving up your weekend to also sleep out in the cold (tiger hat and all).  Thank you to my Mom (Diane MacAskill) and Jean, Peter and David Roche for assisting in making the bagged lunches.  Thank you to all the PF parents for your support and your trust in us for keeping your children safe.
