A Letter from the Pastor, February 10th, 2021

PASTORAL LETTER for February 10, 2021
The Original Congregational Church

Dear Friends,

We hope you are doing well. I have been greatly encouraged that many of you have been on the list at clinics to receive your vaccinations. With the current health advisories, we continue to see the need for us to remain vigilant and to keep masking and social distancing for now.

This Sunday, February 14, and Sunday February 21, Pastor Elaine Gaetani will be our guest preacher. She will be participating on line from her home. We are preparing for our usual Zoom Meeting Broadcast from the Sanctuary which will be hosted by our Moderator Steve Tiller. Along with this letter please find attached our Worship Bulletin for this Sunday, so that you may follow along. Because this is the first time we have had a guest online, please be prepared for any glitches that might arise.

This year we will not have a live in-person service on Ash Wednesday. We will offer a pre-recorded worship video of music, message and prayer, as we do for Sundays as well. You can view these pre-recorded videos on Facebook and the Webpage at any time. Our daily devotions posted on the Webpage, and available through Donna by email, will offer Lenten Themes for reflections and prayers.

Thanks to Pastor Elaine, I will be able to take a two week winter break from my duties to find some rest and attend to family time. In this year of COVID-19, many of my colleagues as with all professions, have experienced a much different work schedule. We are grateful for an intentional time of rejuvenation. Pastor Elaine is also offering pastoral coverage for your pastoral concerns. She will be available by phone and email. Donna in the office will check voicemail and email for messages left at the OCC office. I will return to lead worship on Sunday February 28.

May God bless us and watch over us during this mid-winter season.
Pastor Ken
